Kate Middleton’s Wedding Dress Similar to Grace Kelly’s

I love Kate Middleton’s wedding dress.

Exquisite English and French Chantilly lace and silk gazar gown.

It’s classy, modern and elegant.

It kind of resembles Grace Kelly’s wedding gown when she married Prince Rainier III in Monaco in April of 1956.

Kate’s wedding dress is more beautiful though.

Bravo Sarah Burton of the Alexander McQueen Fashion House! 🙂

Oh, what a Royal Wedding.

Greenwich Pizza Levels UP!

Other than Monday, midweek is usually the busiest time of the week.  But you just got to make time for dinner when you get an invite from Arpee to meet the Greenwich brand and PR execs –the folks who got us laughing watching the “sobrang cheesy” advertisements.  Smiling at the thought of Bubba giving his “sobrang cheesy!!!” remark with that cheesy facial expression of his 🙂

Now, the Greenwich team is back with more power and more supremacy.  The country’s favorite pizza chain, Greenwich, who gives the most scrumptious blend of delicious and exciting pizza (remember Sisig pizza? I was a fan!) and pasta innovations, recently launched the new Ultimate Hawaiian Overload –declaring it to be the best Hawaiian pizza in the country today!  Why?  Because it has double the Hawaiian toppings you love –double the flavor, double the fun!  Definitely, nag-level up na sa sarap!

Pacquiao vs. Mayweather Coming to a Close?

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum made a trip to the Philippines to talk to Manny Pacquiao, who broke records of being the only champion with 7 world boxing titles under his belt.  After Pacquiao’s clear welterweight win over Miguel Cotto last November, everyone is slating Floyd Mayweather Jr. as the next in line to face the formidable Filipino boxer.

March 13, 2010 is the date they are eyeing.  This can be the biggest boxing event of next year since people have been anticipating this match-up.  Pacquiao is the top pound-for-pound fighter while Mayweather is currently No.2 –although the No.1 position is not new to Mayweather since he was No.1 before he retired in June 2008.

The public has been clamoring for this fight to happen but according to Freddie Roach, Pacquiao’s coach, March 13 is too fast a turnaround.  Remember that Pacquiao suffered a broken eardrum during his duel with Cotto.  Roach wants Pacquiao to be in his best possible shape before he steps again in the ring.  Roach is looking into a May 2010 bout but that will coincide with the election month.  Pacquiao already filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) this week to run for Congress.

Ticket for the live fight is expected to cost around $2,500 (P117,500) while the cheapest seats at around $500 (P25,000).

Will Schaefer and Arum get this deal done and set a fight date before the 2nd half of next year?  The public will have to wait and see.

Nike’s Manny Pacquiao Limited Apparel

Saturdays are meant for sleeping in until noon.  Not last Saturday though.  The day started early and we were at the Fort by 9AM. W-H-Y?

Last May 2, 2009, starting 12 noon, Manny Pacquiao fans and supporters get the chance to purchase Pacman’s limited apparel during this one day only event.  The most popular item in the Manny Pacquiao pop up store was the Nike Trainer 1, which retailed at PHP 5,209.

The Manny Pacquiao pop-up store one-off event was held at Magnet Café Bonifacio High Street.  Magnet Café is 2 doors away from the Nike branch store at the Fort.  Limited pairs were also made available at Nike Park BHS the next day.

What we were interested in was the Manny Pacquiao windbreaker that has the Philippine flag design.  When we got there though, there were about 80 people in line already, who supposedly camped out just to get their hands on the items.  3 hours of waiting… and there was no guarantee that when the store opens at 12nn, there would be stocks left.  As much as we wanted to purchase the windrunners, I just didn’t have the patience to wait that long.

Cheers to those who were able to buy what they went there for!!!  I’m green with envy.

Lopez Defeats Filipino Boxer Peñalosa

Gerry Peñalosa surrendered his WBO bantamweight crown to be able to face Juan Manuel Lopez who is defending the title for the third time.  Unfortunately, Peñalosa’s attempt to win his third world championship failed when he lost to Lopez in a TKO in Puerto Rico.

The 36-year old Filipino boxer challenged the 25-year old Puerto Rican who won over Ponce de Leon, Cesar Figueroa and Sergio Medina with first round knockouts.  The knockouts in the last three outings and the 11-year age difference didn’t intimidate Peñalosa.  Training under Freddie Roach, Peñalosa had a lot of guts and heart staked at the ring.  It was Peñalosa’s ringside people that stopped the fight after the 9th round.

Lopez raises his record to 25-0, with 22 KOs.  He was only five years old when Peñalosa turned pro in 1989.
