When life knocks you down, do a burpee! From a long hiatus, due to very stressful work environments, keeping up with so many changes and heavy workload, I get too mentally tired to have the drive to go to the gym this year. That changed though when I received the Fitbit Charge HR. You’d think, naw, that’s just at the beginning. After unboxing it and strapping it on, slowly I got more aware of the little exercise I’ve been doing. I got more conscious of the steps I’m taking each day. It motivated me more to take the stairs every other morning going up to my office on the 6th floor.
First of all, aesthetically, I like the slim design and its sort of old school simplicity. I also love the different colors available to suit your hue preference. I was going for the teal or blue but ended up receiving the purple one. A lot of my friends particularly liked the black or blue. As of this writing, I have convinced at least 4 of my friends to go purchase one at Beyond the Box.

How does it work you ask? Fitbit Charge HR combines fitness/activity monitoring, heart rate tracking, and sleep tracking into one very affordable slim band. It’s a step-counting band, which also records your run or walk distance, and its distance calibration vs. GPS is fairly accurate.
It readily displays Current Time – Steps Measured – Heart Rate At the Moment – Distance Measured – Calories Burned – Stairs Climbed.
It is simple to use which makes all these working out less complicated. You can opt to wear the band 24/7 as it tracks sleeping hours too or wear it only during the day. So far, I’ve only used it during the day, as I want less on me when I sleep. As I move along my day, it keeps track of when I’m doing a lot of activity, or doing a little, or none at all. What differentiates it from the others is its continuous heart rate tracking.
