Robinsons Starmills in Pampanga and its Outlet Stores

Pampanga is not only a haven of wonderful and delectable Pampanga dishes, it’s also home to Robinsons Starmills who is known to carry the most outlet stores in one venue.

Bubba and I visited Pampanga for a whole day of food-tripping at Everybody’s Café and Zapata’s in December 2008.  In between our food adventures, we decided to stop by Robinsons Starmills to check out the Mango outlet store there we heard from Marie.  We went home both very happy about our purchases –I had some good fashion finds from Mango and a few tops from Terranova.  Bubba bought a pair of jeans from Levi’s, regularly priced, but he didn’t mind, it was a great fit.

I was able to get 4 dresses from Mango that time that totaled only less than 5K, one of which is a Grecian-type Maxi dress that cost only PHP 1,400.

That’s why I was a bit excited to be back in Robinsons Starmills last Wednesday afternoon (yes, I filed a half-day leave and took a midweek break from work).  It’s been almost two years since my last visit but my hunger to search for good deals never deterred.

It was relatively a short drive of 50 minutes to 1 hour to Pampanga taking the North Luzon Expressway.  Upon arriving, we had some refreshments from the Rosemary and Thyme restaurant.

Armed with a satisfied tummy and a quick run-through of where the stores are located, shopping in the outlet stores has come to full swing.

After shopping, we had a yummy-rific dining experience at Fiesta Kapampangan with live band to entertain us with their music.  Fiesta Kapampangan is a melange of restaurants and food stalls that boast of Kapampangan Cuisine specialties all in one place.

Shopping review: I got a classy gray turtleneck from Mango (PHP 449), 4 belts (PHP 50 each) and 1 bracelet (PHP 129) from Gozum and 3 shoes from Nine West (total of PHP 1,700) -which would normally retail between PHP 5,000-6,000 a pair!!! 🙂  I got everything for less than PHP 3,000.  What a steal!

Be amazed with big big discounts on great selections from International brands like Mango, Adidas, Havaianas, Guess, American Rag, etc. and from popular local boutiques like Plains & Prints, Space, etc.  If you’re looking for a year-round sale, Robinsons Starmills in Pampanga is where a shopaholic like yourself should be headed! 😉

GoHotels.PH is the First Value-Hotel in the Philippines for Every Juan

People have been anticipating all year round for the best budget airline seats for every Juan.  This opened a lot of opportunities for every Filipino or any average joe to travel both locally and internationally.  Brace yourself as I introduce to you the very first value hotel in the Philippines –gohotels.ph.

Gohotels.ph welcomed us very warmly last weekend at the newest landmark that will make waves along the stretch of EDSA.  It has opened its doors to dynamic individuals who look for extremely comfortable accommodations in the Metro without breaking the bank.  Gohotels.ph is reinventing the local hotel industry by being the country’s first genuine value hotel chain that operates like a budget airline.

Along with other bloggers invited by gohotels.ph, Bubba and I checked-in last Saturday afternoon to get a feel of what gohotels.ph has to offer.  I was glad to see and bond with Eric of biyahilo.com, Melo of outoftownblog.com, Mica of micamyx.com, Winston of batangyagit.com, Bong of brianong.blogspot.com and meet Yuri, Bong’s best friend and Ogie of lagalog.com and happyfoodies.com

Pizza Party at 6035

The elevator stopped at the 6th floor and I was pleasantly surprised that the floor had a welcoming space.  There’s definitely enough area to walk with Bubba side by side and probably include two more friends.  The hallways weren’t limited in space.  Neither were the rooms.  I was expecting a matchbox room like the budget hotels in Singapore or Hong Kong but the first Value-concept hotel in Manila proved me wrong.  The rooms didn’t feel at all stuffy.

Responding to the increasing demand of domestic travelers for smart options, gohotels.ph offers unparalleled accommodations and appointments for its price.  For as low as PHP388+ night, one will be able to stay at this no frills rooms-only hotel that provides the essentials for a good night’s sleep.  All rooms are supposedly the same except for the option of queen-sized or twin beds and the varied window views.  If you get the earliest possible booking, you might as well be able to catch the PHP388 promo.  The room rates range from as low as PHP388 to as high as PHP3,000 depending on the date of booking and room availability.

gohotels.ph rewards early bookers – the earlier you book your room, the lower your room rate. It’s the budget airline-pricing model applied to the hotel industry.  The price at which you’ll get your room depends on time and demand, so one can easily get the same room for a lower rate just by finalizing his or her reservation considerably in advance.  Whether reserving a room through the website or inquiring at the hotel’s Front Desk, room rates are contingent on occupancy at the time of booking.

Operating like a budget airline, the gohotels.ph online booking system shows real time room rates and allows guests to make reservations with instant confirmation.  The convenience that gohotels.ph boasts of starts even before a guest steps into the hotel, ensuring that everything you need to book a place to stay is at your fingertips.

gohotels.ph’s 223 rooms are outfitted with quality beds – 93 rooms have queen-sized beds, while there are 130 rooms with twin beds – chiropractic and fiberfill pillows, 100% cotton sheets, rain shower and handheld shower, free Wi-Fi Access, and LCD TV.

Free Wi-Fi Access ROCKS!!! \m/ 🙂

Rain Shower makes you want to take a bath more than usual 😀

Robinsons Land operates the country’s first value hotel and the management assures the best accommodations in the market for its price.  A chain of hotels will follow in the coming years — from its first location at Cybergate Plaza beside Forum Robinsons mall, to its future sites including Tacloban, Palawan, and Dumaguete.

Economical rates coupled with a commitment to meet professional and meticulous standards for comfort, accessibility, and safety clearly underscore gohotels.ph as the best value hotel in its class.

Trilogy Boutique and Canteen

It was quite unusual that Bubba and I found the energy to drive to Makati during weekday for dinner.  It was one of those evenings we decided to wing it.  Bubba has read about Trilogy and wanted to try it out.

We arrive at the location near closing time but we were still accommodated.  We walk into the space where 2 beautiful Fs intertwine -food and fashion.  Trilogy Boutique and Canteen is a lifestyle boutique and canteen that offers unique mix of fashion merchandise for Manila’s fashion forward folks (that’s a lotta F’s!) and an in-store café that presents scrumptious eats from the kitchen of chef Fern Aracama.

Some of the brand they carry… Dim Mak, Junk Food, Christys Crown Series Hats, Obey, WeSC, Incase Bags, Generic Surplus, Gourmet Footwear, Pointer Footwear, Gravis, Dolce Vita, Matiko, Report Shoes, Alternative Apparel, Adidas Originals by Originals, Tretorn, Kangol, C.Luce, Brigada Eyewear, Lego Watches, Andy Warhol Watches

Meatball Mozzarella Melt PHP

Both Bubba and I are TRYING very hard to start a lighter diet so we can be fit for our Singapore – Bali trip mid-march.  We decided to get sandwiches instead of a full meal that included rice.

The meatball mozzarella was as delicious as it looked.  Meaty and tasty meatballs smothered with luscious marinara sauce and topped with gooey cheese.  Served with lightly salted sweet potato chips.

Tuna Melt + Whole Wheat + Cheese + Tomato PHP 175

Open faced tuna sandwich with a base of tomato and cheese slice on top.  Served also with sweet potato chips.

Find a lot of fresh, independent brands that represent quality and individuality in the Trilogy Boutique, and get a meal or two immediately right after shopping!  Simple + Good Food! 😉
