Something is Cookin’ at Between Bites

This was way overdue.  I’ve been thinking about this for the past 2 years but never gotten around to actually doing it.  In fact, there are 3 things I’ve been meaning to do as projects but it always gets sidetracked… family first, other more impeding matters first, work first, LOVE first and sometimes LIFE just happens and you get railroaded.  I’m not complaining.  I take the good with the bad… and continue to have Hope for the Flowers.

One of those magic 3 is in the works and might launch early June.  This is a project I’m working on since last month with 2 other good friends.

The other one will have to be delayed to Q4 and will involve a bigger audience and more intricate details.

The last one is what I’ve been working on since mid-2010 but only when I find the spare time so I conceptualize, work and pause, work and pause, work and pause.  I worked on it piece by piece.  The framework is 95% done since January 2011.  Thanks to my good friend Mon who from Malaysia was able to put into shape 96% of what I had in mind.

I’m bursting with excitement to share with everyone the new design and lay-out (but I’m forced to keep it under wraps due to my group’s fear of copycats.  Anyway, I really don’t mind that much that’s why the photos here kinda spills it already.  I think the team who helped me put this together cannot be replicated).

But I have been told that the overall output has to wait.  My other good friend and former colleague Martin Martini, who is a web expert, told me he needs 2 months to get things executed and running –taking out the kinks too.

June 1, 2011.

That’s the date to watch out for.

This specific one involved this concept shoot at Big Bang Studio.

That same day, Madz introduced me to HMUA Renan Galicia Bautista, who was such a delight to work with.  I really enjoyed his sweet, exuberant and funny persona –very natural without a trace of pretense.  But it was really his skillful make-up expertise, including hair know-how that really made quite an impression on me.

I just lifted this off his Facebook without his permission… oopsies!

His swift move of the airbrush across my face didn’t take as long as the ones for my previous shoots (outside Big Bang Studio) and he just glided the air from the brush like a soft whisper against my skin.  I got exactly the make-up I had in mind, FRESH and BARELY THERE.

Imagine making my pitiful-looking face turned into this human-looking face.

I didn’t even want to wash my face that night.  Oh, and he also styled my first outfit for the shoot.  Versatility is key.

Renan also does some of the creative make-up behind Kaos, the one-of-a-kind musical spectacle in the highly renowned Resorts World Manila.  You might want to try him out, check out his contact details below.  I’m getting him again for the outdoor shoot I have in the pipeline next month.

An Afternoon of SereniTea and Fun Photo Shoot

June 14, 2010 –It was a holiday Monday in Manila in commemoration of the Philippine Independence Day (supposedly celebrated every 12th of June).  What better way to spend it but to hang out with Madz, Pearl and Issang …and Bubba of course!

Madz and Pearl wanted to join this __________ so we spent the afternoon doing the prep and shoot.

Before meeting them around 2PM, Bubba and I stopped by Serenitea to get 5 orders of Hokkaido or Okkinawa for the girls and us.  I think we’re trying to pass our tea addiction to other people, but more than anything, we just really wanted to share our favorite cold tea drinks from Serenitea with our favorite friends.

Serenitea Orders:

(2) Two Hokkaido Milk Tea with 100% Sugar

(1) One Okkinawa Milk Tea with 100% Sugar

(1) One Okkinawa Milk Tea with 1 Splenda (mine but now I can take 0% with no splenda)

(1) One Okkinawa Milk Tea with 3 Splenda (Bubba’s)

(3) Three Fried Potatoes

Pegging our costumes was fun.  Stylist Issang helped Maddie out with hers.

Janey as the chic traveler, Madz as the Jap student/cos-player,

Issang as the trad geisha and Pearl as the cutest ever!!!

Not long after, we were treading along Manila trying to locate where the ____________ is.  There’s an entry fee of PHP 5 per person.  Sunset was closing in on us and we needed the natural light in the photos… just our luck, it started to drizzle so we had to shoot with a bit of drizzle while sweating bullets… what a catastrophe but it was a memorable and enjoyable afternoon.  We managed to pull it off… good job girls!!! 😉

We went back to the studio and checked our photos on Madz’ MAC.  Too bad Issang had to leave early.  We ordered KFC delivery and ate our hearts out over never-ending conversations.

Bridgette’s Send-Off at Taverna Verde

Last night, our group of 10 filled a table at Taverna, one of my favorite drinking spots in the Metro, particularly in Ortigas.  It’s been a while since I was last here but it’s good to unwind after such a long day.

Bubba and I were the last ones to arrive around 930pm.  Madz and Francis are usually on time.  And I’m almost ALWAYS on time.  So you know which direction to look at when I’m late.

I was feeling really tired and it was a slow start for me trying to catch the groove.  Madz was at the helm of the table conversation and it was great seeing her in such an uber-bouncy and cheery mood excited about having everyone there and sharing the photography session ideas both Pearl and her are planning.  How can you not get infected with such enthusiasm?  That’s why I really adore her.

The get-together was a pre-send-off (yes, there’s another despedida at Madz’ place on Sunday) for Bridgette, Madz’ visiting cousin from Australia, who also visited last year during Typhoon Ondoy.  Odette (Madz’ sister), Pearl (Madz’ studio business partner), Bogs (one of Madz’ dozens of cousin), Issang and Bobby, and Mr. Milo Kid (Francis… he hates that moniker) were there.

The Mojito relaxed me a bit and definitely, Taverna’s yummy nachos revived my energy!!!  I didn’t realize Taverna has such awesome bar chows since we always only order drinks and the Spinach dip appetizer.  Bubba was on an eating rage last night and ordered 2 nachos, 1 chicken and pepper melt tortilla, chorizo and cheese croquettes.  He wants to go back today for the chorizo and cheese croquettes.  Bridge loved the melt tortilla and claims that it agreed with her Australian taste buds.

We just kept laughing the night away.  I think we were the loudest bunch there and I didn’t even contribute to the noise that much (awfully exhausted and hungry) but I thoroughly enjoyed the evening with the whole group.  Issang left earlier because she was joining a Travel Factor trip that night (woo-hoo!), a first for her.

Despite some crazy moods of Bridge, Madz will surely miss her presence at home (even the bullying haha).  It’ll be sad to see her ride the plane back to Brisbane on Tuesday but I’m sure she’d be back in Manila for another vacation sooner than Madz can say, “Patience is a virtue.” 😉

Rockband Friday at King Francis’

Potluck Dinner

Dinner: Cherry’s Spareribs, Pizza and Carbonara.  Jane’s Wrong Pasta, and Madz’ Uncooked Tikoy (operative word: uncooked)

Usual Suspects: Francis a.k.a “Milo Kid,” Madz a.k.a “Princess Maddie,” Chris a.k.a “Bubba,” and Jane a.k.a “Queen La.”

New Recruits: Pearl a.k.a “Si Pearl Na Naman” and Judd a.k.a “Coron Next Day” -Hannah (MIA)

Notes:  Morgan Freeman.  Wrong Pasta.  Delicious Spareribs.

Since Bubba had a late meeting Friday night, I had to ride with Francis from the office to his place.  I bonded with Francis’ lovely (Read: hot) mom on the way and even bragged about the pasta I was going to bring.  The pasta it turned out was cooked the wrong way by the help (since I changed something in my usual recipe).  I was so embarrassed so I promised the mom I would bring her another one (I woke up early Monday to cook the pasta myself).

(After lunch, I went to the office of Francis and handed the pasta to his mom.  I gave Bubba pasta too for his packed lunch and after gym during lunchtime, I also handed one to my newfound friend and gym buddy, Nolan)

Rockband

After many months of waiting, this plan of Francis pushes through (with so much berating from me and Madz!)  We started around 9pm.  But first, the muscles of Francis and Judd had to work because they had to move the flat screen from one room to Francis’ game room.  Bubba claimed injury for not helping.

First Song.  First Score.

Nothing can start the year right than sponsoring kids (from Payatas affected by Typhoon Ondoy) to a tour in Ark Avilon Zoo.  Bubba and I sponsored three kids between us for Chai’s outreach project for Junior Chamber International Makati Princess Urduja (lady chapter of Jaycees).

Other than the small sponsorship/contribution, we also volunteered to spend our Saturday with the kids in their numerous activities.

There is so much to say about my Maddie.

But I will keep it simple like she is.

We get each other’s jokes, talk about anything under the sun, and go to the wrong movie premieres together 😉

She is like a little sister to me.

Open about everything and shares every aspect of her heart to me.

You are blessed because you have a good heart

and a beauty that more than meets the eye.

I love your endearing smile, simple sweetness, and genuine care.

Thank you for being a part of my life.

You are a great friend.

A sit-down is a must to discuss our birthday outreach plans.

Basically, I just want a reason to see you

because it’s been more than 9 days since the last I saw you…

and my wacko self wants to see you everyday.

Christmas is for Kids

Many say that Christmas is truly for kids. It’s hard to disagree when you find yourself in a toy store just to get your child, inaanak, pamangkin, or even your little neighbor a gift that’ll make them smile. However, some kids are not as fortunate as our young loved ones.

Through Enervon, you can make a difference for the kids of the Virlanie Foundation. All you have to do is text REFILL to 2948. The proceeds from every text message you send are donated to the foundation. Every text message also makes the Enervon Smiley billboard on PET building, EDSA shine brighter. Let’s not forget the reason for the season and share the happy to the kids of Virlanie Foundation. Keep texting, mag-refill with Enervon and share the happy.

And if you lend a helping hand, you might even grab an MP3 player along the way! Each text you send gets you more chances of winning a Philips Go Gear Mix MP3 player.

Spread the word. Share the happy!

Love in All the Little Faces

It was a weekend full of young hearts.  This weekend was spent with so many kids I couldn’t keep track how many smiles I have received and how many smiles I have given.  When there is sharing of Love, it’s countless.

Thursday evening after work, Bubba and I went Christmas shopping for toys.  I bought toys (as prizes) for Madz’ invite to Project Brave Kids Xmas Party last Saturday and for my birthday outreach project planned for February next year.

From the onset of dating, I’ve already enlisted Bubba’s help in the Christmas goody bags we distributed in 2006.  Since then, we have already committed doing an annual Christmas project together to reach out to the less privileged.  This was our way of giving back to the community for the blessings (even the problems!) that we receive abundantly every year.   If do not find the time to organize, we volunteer for our friends’ outreach programs and donate in kind as well as in time.

This year, we decided to do separate projects to aid more organizations.  Bubba is doing his on December 20, which is next Sunday, while I have to postpone mine to next year, during my birthday month.  I have completely left Bubba alone in planning for his outreach program and it looks like it’s coming altogether soon.  Again, thank you to our friends who have pledged their Sunday afternoon to help out and spend time with the Virlanie Foundation kids.

Last Saturday was the take-off of the causes lined up in our list until next year.

Project Brave Kids

Last February, my “sole” (we like and have the same shoes, now we like the same bags) sister Maddie raised funds during her birthday party to donate to Project Brave Kids.  She invited us again to help out by volunteering during PBK’s Christmas party last Saturday.

Project Brave Kids is an organization that assists children with cancer and their families toward improving their quality of life by enhancing their social, emotional and physical well-being.  The founder also has a child who was stricken with bone marrow cancer at a young age but after a long process, he has now fully recovered and has 0% cancer!

Celebrities who graced the event was Darna star, Marian Rivera, Kenyo and PBA stars among others.  Jollibee made a special appearance also to dance to the very popular song “Nobody,” to which little Andre danced his heart to.  It was so heartwarming to see 150 kids in excitement and joy with the overflowing food, gifts and programs prepared.  The best part was the news that over 10 brave kids graduated from chemo treatment and will start to live a life outside numerous hospital visits.

With Maddie and Issang

Great job by the Project Brave Kids organizers for putting together this big Christmas event for the Brave Kids.  We wanted to stay longer but we also had to attend our good friends’ children party for their daughter so after collecting trash after lunch, Bubba and I dashed to Greenmeadows.

How You Can Help

There are so many ways to share ourselves to others: be a volunteer, a benefactor, a donor, an advocate, a foster parent or a partner.  For more information, please visit the Project Brave Kids website.

Volunteers can join the following activities:

Intercessory Prayer Service: A prayer group shall be formed for each patient, to support the family spiritually.

Hospice Care: Volunteers will visit terminally-ill patients and provide their families comfort and assistance in this most distressing time.

Camp Volunteer: Through an annual summer camp, patients and families will have a chance to take a break from the rigorous schedules of treatment. Volunteers will accompany these families and help facilitate the various activities.

Special Occasion Volunteer: During special occasions, volunteers can take over the care of the cancer patient so that moms or dads can devote a day to themselves.

Even if my body feels tired, my spirit is floating as my heart only contains pure joy for the kids who easily find happiness in the smallest of things.  From their little faces, it shows that their hearts are always open to receiving love.

Spread the LOVE,

Jane 🙂

People Palace and Ice Bar, Greenbelt 3

October 6 –Madz, together with her visiting cousin from Australia, Bridgette, picked me up at the office that Tuesday evening.  Off we braved the Makati traffic from Ortigas.

After rounding up the restaurants in the area, Bridgette finally picked People Palace since she was in the mood for Thai food.

On the Table

Chicken Satay PHP 380

Sliced chicken meat in bamboo skewers grilled and served with peanut sauce

Pad Thai PHP 380

Stir-fried rice noodle with prawn, chicken, tofu and bean sprouts

Kao So Gai PHP 380

Northern Style chicken curry with soft crispy egg noodles

Vanilla Sky PHP 290

Signature long and cool cocktails made by muddling fresh fruits, extracts and premium spirits plus a few special ingredients: fresh raspberry, lychee, absolut vanilla, vanilla sugar, cranberry juice, served long

People Palace serves modern Thai cuisine.  People Palace’s main dining area has a progressive ambience that can accommodate close to 90 people.  The posh al fresco lounge area can accommodate 50 more guests and features leatherette “day beds.”  When you find the interior a bit too stiff, there is option to lounge or dine casually at their low bench tables outside.  Service is adequate and friendly –just the right fit for the international guests that visit the restaurant.

After dinner, we headed to Ice Bar for some late night drinks.  I remember my first poker tournament at this bar some years back.  We were joined by Madz’ friends, Pat and Migs.  Bumped into an old friend, Philip, who I haven’t seen in a while.  I barely finished my one drink but I remember us laughing hysterically that night.  What a fantastic time.  Music wasn’t so bad either.  And I did realize that it’s such a small world after all.

Saturday Night is So Alive

Whew.

After almost 2 years (getting invited to events or launches not counted) of not having nightlife, I was out again last Saturday night with my 2 best wing women.  Partied until the sun came out.

Early Saturday evening was spent with a small mooncake-dice game dinner with my mom and sisters and the Fil-Chi San Juan Chamber at Annapolis Seafood restaurant. I bounced even before the dice game started since Madz was going to pick me up by 11:10PM.

(Play Music)

Now the day is turning into night A

nd everything is still going right

There’s no way you can stop me this time

Or break this spirit of mine

Like the stars above

I’m gonna shine

Anything I want will be mine

Tonight I’m gonna have a good time

Call a few friends of mine

‘Cause I’m loving life

And tonight’s for feeling…

I’m feeling so good

I knew I would

Be taking care of myself

Like I should

‘Cause not one thing can bring me down

Nothing in this world gonna turn me round…

Locations:

Capones

Club Bureau A. Venue Hall Makati

Attica Bar and Lounge A. Venue Hall Makati

Tabu Salcedo Street Makati

Bugsy’s City Golf Plaza Pasig

Off we went to A Venue in Makati. Capones was the first stop of the night.

Chai soon followed. Club Bureau was the next stop. After 20 minutes of waiting in line, we girls grew impatient and left supposedly for Tabu but Chai invited to Attica. I didn’t want to go (knowing that I might bump into someone) so Chai owes me BIG time for that. It was all for the best because guess who I see right as the door opened.

A familiar face hovering near a girl’s ear with a leaning forward motion (looks so eerily a blast from the past but standing up as opposed to sitting down). Frozen smile.

Moving on.

Tabu was on the hit list.  Good music.  Steady vibe.  Expensive drinks (downside boo).  Free drinks.  Dance.  Stoking the heat.  Dancing.  Dancing.  Dancing.

(Shout out to Chai for all the photos. I purposely left my camera at home since I was all about the clubbing and dancing that night.  I have no decent shots haha but who cares?)

Hold my hand and will have a blast.     I got a feeling…  Woo-hoo… that tonight’s gonna be a good night.  Coz tonight’s gonna be a good GOOD night.

Chai with her friends

Chai bumped into some college friends.  Madz met a new friend.  The free drink I got I was gonna pass on to another group when a shadow is up in the same joint I was in again.  Sprint out of there.  That’s what you do.

Oh coincidence?  Right.  More like haunted.

Club Bureau.  Time check: 2:30 AM.  NO lines.  There you go.  No photos but that time with Madz was fantastic.  G-Rrr-eat hip hop/RnB/dance music.  Vodka tasted good –not the shoddy kind.  Danced to the music.  Danced with the music.

Nightcap was spent at Bugsy’s.  Buffalo tenders and breakfast meals are the sweet tone to end the rough but splendid night.  Chai brought me home by 630AM.  Alcohol was still flowing in my veins as my tired body drifts me to sleep.

32 Flavors Entry

Misato

It was a rainy evening last Friday and we set out for Metrowalk because Madz invited to hang.  It was supposed to be a poker night at Metro Card Club with Jody but at the last minute, he begged off.  I wasn’t also up for it that much anyway.  The schedule was at 9pm but traffic looked pretty bad that evening with the rain and all, that Bubba and I decided to have dinner at Metrowalk as well.

Misato was the pick of the night.  It’s a Japanese restaurant parallel to Starbucks’ location at Metrowalk, which means that both are at the tip of the U-shaped area.  Service was fast and pretty adequate, even the manager takes our orders.

On the Table

Freebie

Gy-Saikoro Steak PHP 365

I deliberated whether to get Beef Sukiyaki PHP 480 since the hot semi-sweet broth will temper the cold weather but decided on getting the Gy-Saikoro Steak, which is basically their version of Beef Teppanyaki.  Notice that beef teppanyaki is not included in their menu but when I asked for it, the wait staff pointed to the “Entrée” section and directed my attention to Gy-Saikoro Steak.

The beef was tender to the bite but Bubba wasn’t too impressed.  It was served on a sizzling plate with sautéed bean sprouts on the side.  The mild sweet salty brown sauce gummed to the beef and vegetables were tasty.

Baked Salmon PHP 305

Of note is the salmon served inside a foil.  It was very fresh and serving was generous.  It had a mound of cheese on top of it and some onions making the baked salmon dish anything but boring.

Japanese Samurai Gohan Rice PHP 88

Japanese Gohan Rice PHP 55

We were in the middle of our dinner when we saw Eric Tang outside the window.  He went to our table and asked if I was going to play at Metro.  Bubba shook his head before I could so I just said, “I might” with a smile.  It all depends if there is waiting time before my friends arrive.  Eric and I have been chatting about Metro Card Club, rules and the crowd, the day before.  Eric asked me a few more questions about Metro “rules” since it was going to be their group’s first time there.

We also saw Jayvee and Kring walk inside the restaurant and we said our hellos.  It was a slow dinner as Bubba and I took our time knowing that with the heavy traffic, Madz, Pat and Eric will naturally be late.  We both talked about our recent projects –but mostly I did the yapping about this project that my team and I are going to present the following week.  He had some inputs and talking about work without the pressure and stress was really a breathe of fresh air.

Madz followed soon and feasted also on the baked salmon and rice.  She liked the salmon as well.  Not long, Patrick arrived and we all decided to transfer for drinks and meet Eric Lopez at the next venue.

EL’s Birthday at Bugsy’s

Pat obediently following my instructions to reserve a table for 6, indoors and couch area secured us a table at Bugsy’s Tuesday night.  My friend Eric is experiencing Murphy’s Law since the start of the month and the biggest blow was about his work –news that broke only last week.  On top of that, he lost a mobile phone, nicked his Mazda and is currently nursing a forlorn heart.

EL celebrates his birthday every 23rd of June.  What a way to welcome a birthday right?

But like what they say, it’s hard to put a good man down.

EL still celebrated his birthday in tasteful fashion with friends over drinks and good food.

Bubba and I were first to arrive but we were an hour early so we were off to Big Bert’s for a carwash.  We came back to Bugsy’s and found Pat on our reserved table.  Of course, as Eric’s spokesperson, he briefed us with Eric’s mishap in the recent week.

Imagine your favorite Buffalo wings with all the tangy spicy goodness without the bones!  No more working out tediously to get the meat out.  In every piece there’s a flake of crispy skin that makes it all the more addicting.  I can eat this all day.  Pat is not found of spicy dishes but he loved this obvious when he wiped out one plate.

The Family PHP 265

I ordered Warren’s Dip and Chips but it wasn’t available so I tried their appetizer sampler, The Family.  The Family was composed of potato wedges, mozzarella sticks (that I didn’t get to try.  *shooting a mean look to Bubba*) and buffalo tenders.

French Fries PHP 150 (?)

Deep Fried Burger Melt PHP 165

Burger meat, cheese in deep fried spring roll

Uncle Moe’s Beef Kebab Plate (2) PHP 130

I had to have my rice and I was craving for beef kebab.  Bugsy’s was nice enough to let us bring in the food from their neighbor and serve it on a plate.  You help your neighbor and you increase both your foot traffic –always good for business.

Margarita PHP 130

I love my margarita.  I find it funny that they served it on a Martini glass.

Arctic Vodka (2)

Bottles and Bottles of Beer PHP 50

There is so much to love about Bugsy’s.  The wait staff is really gracious, speedy and efficient.  You wouldn’t mind hanging out with them on a Friday night.  The food is nothing but delish particularly the mouth-watering appetizers!  Price on the drink list is reasonable.  There are no frills –just straightforward scrumptious dishes, reasonable price and quality service that always please.  It seems to be the homiest hangout spot to enjoy beer drinking with friends, colleagues or sport groups.

Fred and Madz followed afterwards.  It’s been more than 5 years since I last seen Fred.  He still looks pretty much the same except that in this dinner he brought with him MUSCLES.  Every time we look at him, he flexes them muscles.  When he asks for beer from the wait staff, he flexes them muscles.  When he laughs, them muscles flex.

Pat, I know you enjoy our company... but whats with the BIG smile?

"Pat, I know you enjoy our company... but what's with the BIG smile?"

Of course, Pat (as Eric’s VOLUNTARY spokesperson) had to share AGAIN with the latecomers Eric’s misfortunes.  After much sympathy to EL, we know that our presence there is not to sulk with him but to remind him the comfort of having friends around at times like this.  We remind him that as long as there is tomorrow, there is always another day of possibilities.

So we exchanged stories one after the other.  Eric and Pat reminisced about the time there was a swimming get-together at Fay’s house.  My girlfriends (Gina, King and Fay) and Fay’s other girl group were there while I was MIA since my parents didn’t allow me to stay out late during college days.  Then-chubby Fred didn’t bring any swimming attire.  He had to wear Fay’s badminton shorts that were sheer.  We all doubled over laughing.  They both demonstrated how Fred swam that evening like he was playing shark.  Most of the time, he was sitting in one corner playing with Fay’s nephew trying to be unmindful of the beautiful girls that surround him.  It was so hilarious.  Fred evens the score when he tells us about the time Eric was so wasted and the Eng boys bathe him.  He was so smashed that he didn’t know they were playing with his “cockpit where he keeps his gun”.

At this point, Fred was still flexing his muscles as he tells the story.  The other tables were also getting as distracted as we were.

Bubba saw some Xavier friends while Chai walked up to me and surprised me.

We ordered another round of Buffalo Tenders.  It was everybody’s first time there except for Bubba and I.  They really liked the food and that makes me cheery.  The humor and energy were nothing short of an upbeat tempo.  The drinks continue to flow.  We literally laughed our hearts out –it’s been quite a while since my abdomen had this heavy workout.

Oh, Fred looks so much like Jake Cuenca when he laughs.  With bigger muscles.  Madz had to take another shot of Arctic Vodka to reluctantly agree.  At this instant, Eric reminds me that it’s his birthday not Fred’s.

Effortlessly, the dynamics in the group bring so much energy to the table conversation.

Bubba and I excused us to go to Barcino and get Eric a cake.  Good thing that Bugsy’s had a birthday candle on hand when we asked for one.  To Eric’s embarrassment, we sang the Happy Birthday song.

It was a workweek and we had to call it a night.  Pat was still raring to continue elsewhere.  Eric and Fred were on board but Madz, Bubba and I had to beg off.  Pat was convincing Madz to go when Eric unintentionally knocked the bottle that drenched Pat’s pants.  I think Pat’s pants absorbed all spill because the red couch he was sitting on was spotless.  That was our queue to get the bill.  We were supposed to treat Eric and split the bill but Pat was insistent on letting Eric pay –how ironically funny.

On the way out, I snatched Fred’s jacket as soon as he stood up.  He stares at the chair for a few seconds and then looks under the table.  He looks at me and said, “Did you see my jacket?”  He looks bewildered and shy, “I think I lost my jacket…” with his voice trailing off.  I rapidly hand off the jacket to Madz from my back.  I asked him, “did you bring a jacket?”  He responds, “Yea, remember you were teasing me that I took it off to show off my muscles when I got in?”  “Really,” I respond biting my lip to keep from laughing.  He had this super worried look on his face that Bubba, Eric, Madz and I tried the darndest to stifle our laughter.  Madz and Pat went out ahead while we wait for Fred to look for his jacket.  He couldn’t resist and timidly asked the waiter if they saw a jacket.  That’s the time I had to tell him and point outside to Madz.

We had such a commanding happy night that it took us another hour to say goodbye.  It was already midnight.

Spotted: Zanjoe Marudo, Epi Quizon, Drew Arellano, Jake Cuenca (oh, that was Fred, my mistake)
