April 2014 DECLARED Holidays, Holy Week!

Holy Week is next month.

It can easily be one of our favorite parts of the year due to the long non-working holiday break.

Most importantly, we all remember what Jesus has done for us on the Cross…

While we were sinners, he loved us and died for us.

And that LOVE continues to bridge us to Our Father in Heaven.

February 25, 2014 is EDSA Revolution School (only) Holiday

I think it’s only moms, mostly full-time moms or maybe full-time dads, who will sort of have a non-working holiday on February 25.  It’s a special holiday but only for schools.  Students rejoice since you don’t have to wake up early on that specific Tuesday.

Since it is towards the end of February, don’t forget that it’s also the Malasimbo month!  Malasimbo Music and Art Festival happening in Puerto Galera from Feb 27 to March 2, 2014.

January 31, 2014 is a Philippine Special Non-Working Holiday

Yahoooooo!  There’s reason to celebrate and I can’t be any happier that the day before my birthday is a holiday!

January 31, 2014

Chinese New Year

Friday, Special Non-Working Holiday

So, where are you off to that long weekend? 🙂

Stumbled on this birthday video that my friends made (almost 6 years ago?) in my archive and got a tad bit sentimental, despite the ugly photos of me they chose.  It’s so nice to see again what they had to say that time.  It’s a good encouragement for me to start this year!  I am extremely blessed to have good people and good life-long friends in my life.

June 19, 2013 is a Philippine Holiday?

UPDATE as of June 18: Malacanang has issued Proclamation 600 declaring June 19, 2013 as a Special (Non-Working) Holiday in the Province of Laguna to commemorate 152nd Birth Anniversary of Jose Rizal.  In this regard, employees who are assigned to work on this day will be given premium pay in accordance with their company’s existing policies.

The Palace declared last year that June 19, 2012 is a Philippine special non-working holiday in the city of Calamba and regional province of Laguna to commemorate the birthday of our national hero, Jose P. Rizal.

I wonder if Malacanang will declare the same this year for Dr. Jose P. Rizal’s 152nd birthday on Wednesday, June 19, 2013.

Declared 2013 Philippine Official Holidays

Did you guys enjoy the long holiday weekends this year?  Are you wondering how many long weekends there are for 2013?  We got the answer so you can start planning for your personal vacations and weekend escapes.  Malacanang already issued recently the list of holidays for 2013 so there’s no more guessing game.

Chinese New Year declared a holiday this year last January 23 is no longer a holiday next year.  Palace, however, declared December 24, 2013 (Tuesday) as a holiday “in order to foster closer family ties and enable our countrymen to observe Christmas more meaningfully.”
