Bottled Up Bottle Umbrella Winner

With 175 comments, the answers that outpoured were so inspiring that it opened and sustained the spirit of Christmas for me.  Thank you to everyone who joined Windward Ventures’ Grab a Bottled Up Umbrella Contest.  Your answers really do make Christmas special for each of you –reading them allowed me to virtually share your “special” 2009 Christmas.  I wish I had more than 100 umbrellas to give away because most of you deserve it… but I only have 3.

Quite a handful of favorite answers but the best answer that was picked:

“Yesterday, I bought some books here in our office building and I was surprised to find activity books worth P5 each. And then last week, I bought plush toys for P10 each. I really bought a lot of those things and thinking of donating it to SM’s share a toy or Jollibee’s MaAga ang Pasko. I’m also considering to just walk on the streets on Baclaran on the 24th to give the toys and books to the less fortunate kids that I will meet on the streets. I might tag along my friends, too. Do you think this will make my Christams extra special? YES!!! “               ~Ann of funhuntress.blogspot.com

This was the most relatable entry to me and friends because we spent yesterday afternoon at the Virlanie Foundation giving a Christmas party to less-privileged/street kids being housed by the foundation.

Random.org picked two winners and they are…

GRAB a Bottled Up Bottle Umbrella

Windward Ventures, the company that primary brought you Genki Umbrellas, first featured by Anton in Our Awesome Planet blog, is launching a new line of trendy umbrellas.

You may have seen this type of umbrella circulating recently in the market but Bottled Up Bottle Umbrella definitely has more to offer in superior quality and stylish designs.

They retail for P249.75 each.  They initially come in 3 different designs I’m sure you’d want to have your hands on.  The umbrella can be a great holiday gift idea (with our ever changing weather).  You can also order in bulk.

What I like about the Bottled Up Umbrella is how easy the umby folds inside the lightweight bottle and how easily you can store it inside your bag!  It’s also a great conversation piece for the intrigued.  You’ll get some folks asking you what’s with the slim bottle in your bag or desk or car 😉

Bottled Up is now available in several stores:

2. National Bookstore (25 branches: Filinvest, Alabang Town Center, Market Market, Mall of Asia, SM Sucat, Sta. Genky Umby Contest of Anton Diaz

When I first read about Anton’s entry on Genki umbrellas, flashbacks of my 2006 Japan trip flooded my mind.  It was almost a 1-month affair getting immersed with Japanese culture.  Tokyo, Osaka, Kagawa, Shikoku are among the key areas that were visited.  We went to several different locations but I was especially mesmerized during our tour in Ritsurin Park.

Ritsurin Park is one of the most famous and most beautiful historical parks located in the city of Takamatsu in Japan.  The park, which is renowned for its landscaping, is considered as one of the city’s main attractions.  Ritsurin Park occupies 185 acres, which makes the walk in the park a tour of almost two hours.  The 75-hectare land includes a natural pine forest, a zoo, an art gallery, a museum and a store where they sell crafts.  Several lakes within the park are sanctuary to thousands of koi.  Amidst big mountains as backdrop, there are various bridges, footpaths and small hills that offer a majestic view of the entire park and the surrounding scenery.  A view of Mt. Shuin can be seen at the western point of the park.

Our tour was almost cut short because of the predicted drizzle that afternoon.  What came to our rescue was the Genki Umby that we brought along with us.  My very first time to watch the rain straight on.

Share your Genki Umby photo with Anton and acquire a free Japan-popularized umbrella.  If I were joining the contest, there are three photos with the Genki Umbrella that I can submit minus the witty captions.  You can also buy these cute umbrellas in bulk from Anton.
