When I went to Europe with Japs last July-August, one of the harder parts was packing. I wanted to pack light since we will be moving around a lot. Still, my aim was to be able to bring as many options for outfits. I was keen on still looking decent and chic amidst the statuesque fashionable Europeans.
One of the harder dilemmas is finding a comfortable pair of shoes to walk around with. Sometimes if I’m in the explorer mindset like in Cambodia, I don’t mind donning sneakers for footwear. It’s comfortable and I can walk for hours in them. If I’m swaggering in the streets of Italy or Spain, I think I have to lady up and wear something more modish.
What’s the next best thing that can easily match any outfit? Ballet flats. Flats are like lifesavers… even in Manila. Imagine walking from meeting to meeting at the office or coffee shops in pumps or in a sexy stiletto number. At some point, after 8 or so hours carrying your weight on two pencil-slim sticks will become a burden. You are not a stranger to this experience. And neither am I.
