Most of the time I instigate eating lunch out with the team and exploring new places. We are quite new around the Quezon City area, being sheltered mostly in the Ortigas CBD. This time, it was Ivan who suggested where to eat. I get excited when someone else makes a restaurant recommendation, it takes the pressure off my back and I can just then concentrate taking the pressure of food pushed inside my tummy. Woohoo.
Caution Hot was packed when we arrived but it took only a quick 10-minute wait for a table to get vacated and their wait staff to bus out. Their menu is simple and straightforward. For noodles, you have the choice of noodles (whether wheat or egg noodles), toppings (all veggie, pork, beef or seafood), broth (option of Szechuan, asam laksa, classic), and burn level which tells them how spicy you want your noodle bowl to be.
The level ranges from first degree burn, 2nd degree, 3rd degree and ultimate burn (you know, when your girl crush suddenly “friend-zones” you). I did the Szechuan broth, beef topping and wheat noodles with 2nd degree.
On the Table
Beef Szechuan Wheat Noodles P205
Shitake mushrooms, bok choy, fried egg, tender beef slices and liberal amounts of fried minced garlic and spring onions.
Begin with a slurp of the broth of the steaming bowl of noodles, which tasted flavorful, strapping and with mid-level spiciness. My chopstick picked up a few strands of the wheat noodles, a piece of the beef and I went on and on, on repeat mode for the rest of my lunch… like a heartbreak song that you keep singing to the whole day after your heart shattered into miniscule million pieces. Now, moving on.
Kuchay Pork Dumplings P75 (5pcs)
When you’re having a nice bowl of ramen, it’s best to accompany it with steamed gyoza. At Caution Hot, pair your noodle bowl with steamed kuchay-pork dumplings. When you need a couple of seconds break from your hankering of your beef noodles bowl, take pleasure in biting into the soft silky dumplings that’s dipped into the chili garlic sauce it comes with.

Soya Milk
To relieve yourself of all the flavors and spiciness, order a cold glass of soya milk to calm your taste buds.
