Last Saturday, after running errands in the morning including cleaning and getting the party souvenirs for my nephew’s 1st birthday party, Bowl Out Blow Out, I met up with Maddie for an afternoon lady-bonding at the salon. I had another haircut in 2 months time, don’t worry, nothing drastic like other people who have gone through a big BU and for only the 2nd time in my life, had my hair colored… but only the tips this time.
Since we were at Menage Salon in Gateway, I suddenly remembered Cubao X and missed that spot. Madz said she was surprised I didn’t invite to eat at Taco Bell since it was my favorite and only place I eat at whenever in Cubao. Well, that, Café Bola and Cubao X restaurants. Did you know Cubao back in the day stood for Lubluban ng Carabao?
Although I missed Bellini’s (and targeting that next time, I just bought my favorite sweet wine there but didn’t dine that evening), we decided to have dinner at Fred’s. I’ve eaten at Fred’s before but somehow it got buried in my unpublished posts and pending drafts. One of these days, I’m finally publishing it. Anyway, after dinner at Fred’s, I got my eye on dessert and we walked over to a small milk and cookies bar in Cubao X. Too bad the cook wasn’t there yet at 8pm, I was bent on ordering a cheeseburger too. I just relented to ordering milk and a cookie.
I like that their prices are reasonable and definitely much cheaper than Mom’s Milk and Cookies at Borough. The cookies there are pretty great too.

¼ Carafe (P50) and a Nutella and Choco Chip Cookie (P60). I wish they had their Malteeser Cookie and I would’ve ordered that in a jiffy! I loved the cookie, albeit I wished it were warm, and enjoyed breaking chunky pieces of it and dipping it in the milk. I remember when I was a kid, I loved cookies a lot and tried to bake my own batch at the age of 11 or 12. I tried to knock at our neighbors’ doors asking if they want to buy my sorry-looking cookies. When no one was buying, I mixed store-bought cookies with the ones I made and gave free taste tests haha. Bad girl.
I love their very artsy interiors and it’s adjacent to an art gallery. When I visit again Cubao X and grab some thin-crust pizza from Bellini’s, I’d surely have my after meal at Sweet Ecstasy for the freshest milk and delicious cookie.
Sweet Ecstasy is open from Tuesday to Thursday, 4pm until 11pm and Friday to Saturday, 4pm until 2am and Sundays, 4pm until 9pm. They’re closed on Mondays.
My early Saturday date
As they say, it’s all about cookies and milk here. Fcuk Cake.
