After more than a year of no gym and no workout, I finally hit the gym again February of this year. Thank goodness for meeting Dondi and Nolan –I kinda got back to the gym groove. I love that Summit Gym is a stone throw away from my office. It’s actually at the West Tower so last February, instead of eating lunch, I bounce off to the gym 3 times a week (sometimes even 4).
My shoes terribly needed replacement that time but I’m not a big fan of rubber/running shoes or cross-trainers that’s why I kept delaying getting new kicks. I soon realize that a good pair of running shoes is a good partner in any extensive workout.
I’ve accepted that my feet require a new pair –but design is also a key factor for me. Gym shoes are so bulky and for a small figure like me, bulky shoes will just make me look smaller. I want shoes that are not hulking. It’s just not me to wear heavy sets.
Last time I went to the gym was first week of March (so yes, I wasted my enrollment for the whole month of March). I’ve been really busy since March (that was my trip to Singapore and Bali with Bubba and Madz) and wasn’t able to find time to workout. April, my gym buddy Nolan was the one who’s super busy so we couldn’t get to motivate each other to workout. But ever since February, Nolan has been bugging me to get a new pair of running shoes. We’ve been talking about Stella McCartney designs and other brands of running shoes aside from Adidas and Nike. I couldn’t make up my mind. And every time I go to sport stores with Bubba, not a single design or cut call out to me. I personally like white sneakers. I love it. I love white running shoes. I love white shoes. I can’t find white shoes that are a good fit for me.
Good thing that two Saturdays ago, Bubba visited the Nike shop in Greenhills to look for a new pair of his own. I found a pair that was slim fit and great for running!!!
Nike Free 5.0 V4 Running Shoes
PHP 4, 495
I like the color pink (it was mostly the color I wore while studying in DLSU)
BUT I prefer WHITE with my running shoes.
These are the only ones they have at the store
and before I changed my mind on investing 4K, I purchased it.
From Nike Website:
The Nike Free 5.0 V4 Women’s Running Shoe is the newest rendition of the innovative shoe that strength-trains legs and feet by imitating barefoot movement, while still providing the cushioning, traction and underfoot protection runners need.
The 5.0-specific upper gives your feet just enough support, while allowing your toes to flex and grip naturally, setting off a natural chain that exercises muscles normally neglected in traditional footwear. And to address the unique needs of the female foot, this shoe features wider, gender-specific Nike Free sipes across the forefoot for even greater engagement of the toes.
Asymmetrical lacing system and unique tongue construction help reduce pressure over the top ridge of the foot, while also adding support
Molded sockliner mimics the curvature of the foot for enhanced comfort and support
Soft, microfiber sythetic overlays bonded using ultra-sonic welding wherever possible minimizes stitching and maximize comfort
Phylite midsole provides a resilient ride and enough durability to double as an outsole, dramatically reducing overall weight
Abrasion resistant carbon rubber outsole protects high wear areas

I’m excited to use them. I’m stepping foot at the gym with my new Nike Free shoes.
Now, I’m motivated to work out.
Paging Nolan.
Paging Cathie, Zipster, Glen, Abet, Richard and Bubba for boxing.
Let’s all get fit!!! 😉
